 Dresses.
« Thread Started on Feb 6, 2007, 7:31pm »

Aurčlie stood outside the local dress shop, looking in the window at the beautiful dresses. There were dresses of all shapes and sizes and colors. As she watched people go in and out of the story, she became extremely self-conscious of her tattered black dress. She wished that she had grown up rich, with parents that were alive, but no, she didn’t have that luck. Instead, she had parents that died when she was young, and that left behind 100’s of francs of debt. But the debt was finally all paid of and she could now save her money, so that soon she could buy herself a new dress, and maybe even some jewelry.

People always would mistake Drea for being rich. She was acually quite the opposite. He mother had died when she was only twelve, and her dad was never home. She didn't get any money from her parents like most girls did. Instead she lived with her friend Margot in an apartment. The only money she made was what she receieved from acting, which isn't as much as it seemed.

She was was walking alone on the streets of the shops, trying to find something that she could afford. She stopped at the dress shop that she always admired and looked in the window. It was then that she noticed that another girl was doing the same. She turned to her and said, "Can't afford it either?"

Aurčlie continued to stare in through the window, watching people go in out, watching them buy their fancy dresses. There was one little girl who through a tantrum because her mom wouldn’t buy her a purple dress with little diamonds on it. Spoiled brat!

Just then she heard a girl next to her, “Nope, can’t afford much on dancer's wages,” she answered.

She sighed and looked back into the window. "You can't even buy much on an actor's wages. Or at least, not when you're family's messed up." She had no clue why she was beginning to tell a complete strager her life story. Maybe it was because she hadn't told anyone it lately. She felt like she needed to belong with someone. Marge's family was perfect, she didn't understand.

She turned to the other girl again and smiled. "I'm sorry, where are my manners? I'm Drea. Drea Roberts, and you are?"

Aurčlie listened to girl’s story, “I’m Aurčlie. Aurčlie Moreau. I dance over at the theatre, where I’m assuming you act, and my family is messed up too…” she said with an understanding smile. She looked back into the store, where the tantrum girl was being bought the pretty purple dress. I can’t believe she actually got it! Aurčlie thought to herself. She sighed wishing alls she had to do was yell and cry to get what she wanted.

Drea looked inside the window and noticed what was going on with the little girl. "Honestly, I believe that parents who let their children act that way should be shot. My mother was never like that. She always made us earn new things. My mother deserved to live and people like that don't." She knew that this was cruel, but she didn't care. She never understood why her mother killed herself, she was the perfect parent, and she was happy.

She sighed and looked at the girl. "I'm sorry for being so negative, it's just.....certian people bother me, you know?"
